Welcome to another episode of Sneaky Nutrition! As the weather starts to freshen up (actually it’s suddenly turned pretty darn freezing this week), comfort foods start to magically appear out of the deep recesses of our cupboards and creep into our diets, with pasta one of the main go-to foods for a lot of people.

To make sure you’re choosing the best possible option (in the right portion size), check out today’s video blog on choosing the healthiest pasta option at your local big-chain supermarket (we grabbed the products in today’s video from Woolies & Coles).

A quick note though… our absolute favourite pasta substitutes come from either boutique health stores (or their online counterparts), or our very own veggie gardens (or veggie drawers, as the case may be). So if you’re trying to avoid “real” pasta this winter, check out a few of these faves; mung bean, or black bean gluten-free pasta alternatives from Explore Asia, 100% buckwheat noodles from Spiral Soba.
